The new film by Michael Miclon, the executive and artistic director of Johnson Hall, is also the screen writer, director and lead actor in Boo Dog Film’s latest production. “Richard3” is a comedic adaptation of William Shakespeare’s Richard III. Shot on location throughout Maine, from Fort Popham in Phippsburg to the former St. Patrick’s Church in Lewiston and used only Maine actors, all of which are classically trained physical comedy stage performers. The production also included more than 300 extras from all over Maine and New Hampshire.

Maine’s own pianist Tom Snow and a few of his friends from the world of Jazz. Tom is sharing the stage with jazz giant and NYC-based virtuoso clarinetist, Ken Peplowski, acclaimed Boston bassist, Marty Ballou, and stalwart favorite and Boston “A-lister”, Les Harris, Jr. (drums). If you’ve ever heard Tom perform, you’ll know that he is a musical chameleon and often cross-weaves styles of folk, bluegrass, rock and jazz. Accompanied by this stellar lineup of world-renowned musicians, the sweet sounds of jazz will fill the air.

Raised in Maine, cured on street corners and next to woodstoves, string-band Tricky Britches is a unique culmination of country, contra-dance, bluegrass, and rock. They’ve played festivals and concerts across the US, Europe, and Hawaii, always being shaped by those places, and using those experiences to inspire their original music.
